Robinson Crusoe, who wanted to be a sailor, was bored with his quiet lift at home in England. Thus he decided to travel the seas of the world. In 1695, he sailed a ship from Brazil to Africa. One day his ship faced with a terrible storm. The ship began to break up, and soon Crusoe and his friends were fighting for their lives in an angry sea. All his friend die, but Crusoe reached land. He was the only one on the island.

Robinson Crusoe was born in the year 1632. He lived with his parents in the city of York in the north of England. His father wanted him to get a good job and have a comfortable life. But he did not want them, he love an exciting life. He wanted to be a sailor and go to sea. Later, his dream came true. He decided to sailing to London with his friend, Bob by ship of Bob’s father. However, the reality was more different than his dream. During his journey, they faced with a terrible storm. It was rough and dangerous. Then, his ship went up and down. That made he ill, afraid, and felt bad. However, the terrible storm and angry sea could not stop his adventures. After he arrived in London, and stayed for sometimes, he agreed with captain of this ship to sail to Guinea in Africa. Thus, it was the second time that he went to the sea. It was a good ship and everything went well at first, but he was very ill again. Later, his ship was nearing to the Canary Island. Suddenly, the unexpected situation happened, his life was changed to the terrible again. He turned into the slave. And he was taken control by Turkish captain who owned the pirate ship, and he was the famous leader of the thieves of the sea at that time.

For two long years, Crusoe worked in Turkish captain’s house. During he worked, everyday he was never forgetting to plan the ways to escape this prison. Finally his plan succeed, he could leave from bad place with another slave, Xury by small boat. Then, he tried to go too far from the shore, and sailed on the south. About 23 days later, it was lucky. They were helped by Portuguese captain of the ship that was going to Brazil. When they arrived at Brazil, Xury was willing to go with Portuguese Captain. As for Crusoe, he left the ship and went to begin a new life.

He stayed in Brazil and worked hard for some years. But he bored, so in 1695 he decided to go to sea again. He went to Africa to do business with his friends. While his ship was sailing, he faced with a terrible storm- the wind and rain did not stop for twelve days. After the sea rather quieted, one of sailors saw land. Meanwhile, the ship hit some sand under just the sea. So it could not move. And the sea was trying to break the ship into pieces. Crusoe and other sailors tried to go to the island by boat, but it could not. This was just a little boat, so it could not live for long in that wild water. They turned the both over, and then Crusoe and other sailors were in the water.


After the angry sea stopped, the sea carried Crusoe to the shore. Presently he regained, and got to one’s feet and went higher up the shore. From there, he could see the ship, but it was wrecked and there was nobody near it. All of his friends were dead. However, he was very thankful to be alive, and still lived with hope that one day he could find the ways back home. Although, he could escape death from the terrible storm, it did not mean he could survive on the island, it is full of hills, and around with water, in a strange wild country, mild animals, mild human and the importance thing; he had no food, no water, and no gun.



A new life on an island was very hard for him. When the day came, the sea was quiet again. Fortunately, his ship was still there and still one piece. So he tried to go into the ship in order to bring a lot of food as much as he could, and many tools-knives, the ship’s sails and rope, paper, and pen for survive. He needed somewhere to keep his things, and then he tried to find out. Finally he found a little cave in the side of hill. It was a good place for keeping his food. And in front of it, he built tent by the ship’s sails and rope, and pieces of wood. After he had tent for sleeping and the place for keeping food, he built a very strong fence to protect him from wild animal and wild people. It was as strong as a stone wall. Due to making tents and building fence was hard work, thus he decided to go back to the ship again, and get some more things. Unfortunately, the ship was disappear because of a terrible storm last nigh. His hope for back home was decrease, after that he was learning to live alone. He began to make a lot of things such as chair, table, pot, and etc. He hunted animals for meat, milk, and clothes. He planted a small field of corn, and made bread from it. Everyday he went out from his tent for discovers this island, how about it and find where he was in this world? During all this time he never stopped thinking about escape. He attempted to make the canoe. But sometimes it was too big and heavy to push or pull it to the sea, and sometimes it was too small for a long journey.

In sixth year, Crusoe still lived on this island alone. One day something strange and terrible happened. While he was walking along the shore on the west side of the island, he saw a footprint of a man. He was very surprise. But perhaps the owner of the footprint could be the wild human who kill another human for food. Then he listened and looked around him to find the other man. Nothing! He was more and more afraid. So he hurried home. After that he never went far from his cave and kept his gun beside him always. About two years later, he saw five boats was coming. There were about thirty men and they had two prisoners. As soon as they arrived, they made their fire and danced around it. Then they killed one of the prisoners for their terrible meal. As for another prisoner, he ran away from two men to watch him. The two men ran after him, but the other was busy with their meal. When the prisoner was coming near the bottom of his hill. He decided to help him, as fast as possible, he ran down the hill and jumped out of the tress between the prisoner and shoot two wild men with his gun. Then he tried to show the prisoner that he was friendly. Slowly, Crusoe took him to his secret cave on the other side of the island. He was very happy that he had a friend to talk with. He called the prisoner, Friday because he met him on Friday. But Friday could not speck English, so Crusoe teach him to speak English. He gave his cloth and trouser, which he made from skins of an animal. Friday help Crusoe about milk a goat, work in filed corn, and soon they were good friends.

Throughout the twenty- seventh year that Crusoe lived on the island, he never stopped to leave from this island. As soon as they got ready for long journey, they escaped from there with their boat, which he and his best friend always helped each other to make it. One evening Friday went out to look for a turtle for meat and eggs, he saw a great ship near the island. It was a big surprise for Crusoe. It was an English ship. Suddenly he realize that why was it here? Perhaps they were pirates! Thus Friday and Crusoe hided in the trees and watch. Tom Smith, who was mutineers, seized the power to be the captain of an English ship, and expel old captain and his first and second officer to the island. After Tom Smith and his sailor backed to his ship. Crusoe helped them and took them to his secret cave. Crusoe offered to help captain to fight with mutineers for getting back to captain’s ship, if captain take him and Friday bake to England. The captain agreed with Crusoe sharply. After a while they did following their plan set. When the sound of fight ended, captain came to Crusoe that wait him on the island with his authority. It was the time that Crusoe should say good bay for his twenty- seventh year that he spent his life on it. He was very happy to back to his home in England.


At last his hope came true, Crusoe and Friday arrived at England. He went home in York, but his parents and two brothers were dead. Luckily, he found his two nephews. So he decided to go down to Lisbon in Portugal with Fridays. He sold his land in Brazil, and came back to live with the quiet life. After a while Crusoe married. He had two sons and a daughter. Then his wife died, and my nephew convinced him to end this quiet life and started with the new life of adventure and exciting experience.
